Situation
Enterprise market risk reporting had a stability problem, and Risk and Technology were planning separately. In market risk, a bad night costs real money.
What I did
A six-month engagement through Seamus Birch Solutions. Ran market risk reporting as a product for the Risk function: problem management, root cause, and a shared roadmap owned by Risk and Technology together. Started the "No Broken Windows" health check, so the portfolio kept improving through changes to the operating model, the processes and the architecture after the programme ended.
Result
Production incidents down 83% in six months. Risk and Technology planning the roadmap together, with the health check left in place.
What it took
Fixing causes rather than incidents, and making each fix part of how the team works so it held after I left.
